International Conference on Gender-based Violence and Sexual and Reproductive Health

The National Institute for Research in Reproductive Health will be organizing an International Conference on Gender-based Violence and Sexual and Reproductive Health to be held February 15-18, 2009 in Mumbai, India.

Gender-based Violence (GBV) is both a human rights as well as a public health concern. GBV is pervasive and is observed worldwide in both developing and developed country settings. The victims of GBV are overwhelmingly women. The conference aims to expand knowledge about the magnitude of GBV and its impact on the health of the individual and the society and broaden understanding of the factors underlying the experience and consequences of GBV.
