This report, Action against Sexual Harassment at Work in Asia and the Pacific, is intended to serve as a technical report for discussion at the ILO Regional Tripartite Seminar on Action against Sexual Harassment at Work, to be held in Penang, Malaysia from 2 to 4 October, 2001. The aims of the technical report, prepared for the ILO Regional Tripartite Seminar, are to familiarize participants with the phenomenon of sexual harassment at work and to give an overview of initiatives and good practice for its prevention and elimination as taken by governments, employers’, workers’ and women’s organizations.

HIV/AIDS and the Public Sector Workforce: an Action Guide for Managers
This action guide offers practical guidance on creating or expanding HIV/AIDS workplace programs for civil services. Human resource managers, employee welfare managers, medical officers and labor representatives in government ministries and agencies can use the guide to design and develop effective and appropriate HIV/AIDS prevention, care and support programs. Public Sector Workforce is intended to be a basic reference tool. Users can select chapters to assist with specific aspects of an HIV/AIDS program. Checklists are included for assessing the effects of HIV/AIDS on a particular workplace and for developing HIV/AIDS workplace policies or programs. Report on Sexual Harassment in the Workplace in Mexico
This report is intended to study the scope and extent of sexual harassment faced by women workers in Mexico. It is part of a series of similar reports for the International Labor Rights Fund’s Rights for Working Women Campaign, with the aim of preventing violence in the workplace against women in developing countries. This study provides background on occupational conditions affecting women wage workers and the legal framework of existing protections for them, highlight certain findings from research data, and provides recommendations on how the problem of sexual harassment should be addressed in Mexico.

Sexual Harassment in the Workplace: Experiences of Women in the Health Sector
The objective of this paper is to explore the context of sexual harassment of women in the health sector in Kolkata, West Bengal. Specifically, it explores women’s perceptions of the occurrence of sexual harassment in hospital settings, and probes women’s own experiences of sexual harassment and incidents of sexual harassment in the hospital environment about which women are aware. The study also investigates the nature of action taken to seek redress, and the extent to which working women are aware of the complaint mechanism outlined by the Supreme Court. [from introduction]
