GHWA Forum 2008 - Health Workforce: the Key to Better Health

The Global Health Workforce Alliance (GHWA) forum will be March 4-7, 2008 in Kampala Uganda. The meeting will introduce GHWA and what it can contribute to tackling the HRH crisis. Alliance building, experience sharing networking and global advocacy will all be prominent features. The road map will be the set of collective actions supported by the alliance to keep HRH on the agenda. The over-arching objective will be achieving progress through partnership and collective action towards shared objectives.

The HRH Action Framework will be used to provide a structure for the two first days of the meeting. The country context and labor market elements of the framework will be central into the planning cycle, in order to make it clear that plans and actions should recognize the role of non-state actors, civil society, and the private sector. The forum will have sessions on leadership, policy, migration, financing, education, HRH systems and partnerships.
