World Health Professions Conference on Role and Future of Health Professions Regulation


 

The World Health Professions Conference on Regulation will bring together leaders in health professions regulation to discuss different models of health professional regulation, regulatory body governance and performance, trade in services and implications for regulation. The conference will be held May 17 – 18, 2008 in Geneva, Switzerland.

Specific conference topics include:

  • advantages and disadvantages of the various regulatory models;
  • approaches that facilitate flexible and responsive regulation for all models;
  • the role of regulation in informing health systems redesign;
  • identifying, developing, implementing and assessing performance measures; and
  • aligning strategic responsibilities with the external operating environment.
